Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme by IQAC and the Department of Physical Education

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Physical Education of The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College jointly organised a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Programme on 21 January 2026 (Wednesday) from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM, in association with Aster MIMS.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Anoop K., IQAC Coordinator, who highlighted the importance of Basic Life Support training in creating health-aware and socially responsible individuals. The session was then formally inaugurated, followed by felicitation addresses by Dr. Unnikrishnan S. and Dr. Sreeranjini, who appreciated the initiative and emphasised the relevance of life-saving skills among students.
The training session was conducted by expert medical professionals from Aster MIMS, who provided both theoretical insights and hands-on demonstrations on essential BLS techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and emergency response procedures. The session was highly interactive and enabled participants to gain practical exposure to real-life emergency situations.
A total of more than 140 students actively participated in the programme, making it a highly successful and impactful event. The participants showed keen interest and enthusiasm throughout the training, reflecting the relevance and necessity of such capacity-building programmes.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jayakumar R., Head of the Department of Physical Education, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons from Aster MIMS, the IQAC, organizing committee members, and all participants for their wholehearted support and cooperation. The training programme ended on a positive note, with participants gaining valuable life-saving skills and receiving certificates upon successful completion.
